About me/Contact

Graduated in Milan, I completed a MSc and started a PhD in History of Art at the University of Edinburgh (2011). Focusing on Florentine art patronage my research aims at investigating the collection of a family who have been relatively under-studied despite their central role in the life on the Medicean republic, the Vespucci to whom the famous navigator Amerigo belonged to. My wider interests include: nineteenth century Anglo-Italian art dealing and collecting with a particular focus on the selling/acquisition of Renaissance works of art; Old Masters' exhibitions in nineteenth century British galleries, clubs and societies; reconstruction and contextualisation of lost/dismantled works of art.
